In the Room
the professionalism of the staff and the overall atmosphere of the hotel, the food was excellent
The staff were helpful and friendly, even when stressed out by an evening powercut during our overnight stay! The food was good and the location excellent for the Lake District. The room was a little small, but extremely comfortable, except that the duvet was very hot for good sleeping ! and the bed a bit soft for our aching bones! The narrow corridor outside our room meant that we could hear footsteps going past. There are also a couple of low doorways, so watch out if you are tall! We would be happy to stay again
Very good food
The size of the bathroom was very poor
The food, although expensive, was absolutely superb.
Our room was on the ground floor near an entrance and some stairs. This meant it was quite noisy.
Very comfortable and homely. Refurbished bedrooms are lovely.
Staff are ver friendly and helpful but lack the professional edge.
Restaurant facilities were fine and food was good. Although we were phoned 2 days prior to our stay to arrange a table for dinner at 8.30pm it was not ready until 8.55 pm although several tables were empty at this time. Bedside lights were unusual and very nice, freeing up space on the bedside cabinets.
Rooms are small and bathroom was not large enough for the bath with shower. Shower unit over-complicated and unwieldly. Little space left for maneouvres or hanging bath towels etc. For this price we expected better. Room was very clean and comfortable. We do not need the overt sales practices and they did not sit well with the overall ambience of the hotel!
Location just outside Windemere, but not to far to travel. Beautiful room, very friendly, helpful staff. Service was very good. The room was first class and very comfortable.
Some of the seating in the dining area/lounge was uncomfortable and in need of updating.
The location is beautiful and the staff friendly. The breakfast was excellent and the bar, in the evening, was very comfortable and convenient.
While our stay was very comfortable, the room was tired and there was even a broken hinge on the en-suite door, which we had to attend to, before we could close it. Also, we had booked a twin room, but were given a double bed. A quick resolution was provided, but still embarrassing. We had a nice stay, but feel the room was over-priced.
The meal was excellent, and the restaurant was nicely put together.
The room especially the bathroom needed updating, it was a good size though.
Staff were especially courteous, friendly and helpful. Room (17) was tastefully decorated.
liked everything, lovely location, lovely room, excellent facilities liked the fact we could use low wood facilities, breakfast was delicious.
The staff were very professional, friendly and attentive. The food is excellent.
We were very disappointed with the room. It was dated, basic and the bathroom was not very clean. The bed was very clean and comfortable though. We did not mention this as we knew the hotel was full and we would be unable to move rooms.
There were no problems with the room. I asked for an extra sheet on arrival and this was seen too. Staff were helpful
This was a lovely lovely hotel and we will be coming back.It had a very relaxed feel and the food was the best I have eaten at a hotel in years.
Staff were very friendly, well trained and efficient. Hotel location meant it was pleasantly quiet, but quickly accessable to all that the Lake District has to offer.
Booked this hotel, specifically because they were dog friendly. The room the hotel advertised on Booked.net website had patio doors for easy access with dogs, perfect. Called to make doubly sure this style of room was available , which it was. When we got there, we were placed in a standard room, no patio doors. When I went back to reception, I was informed that such a room would be an additional cost. So I was disappointed in not getting what was clearly advertised and clearly requested for the amount advertised. Staff should be kept aware of offers on websites
